Richmond College thrashed St.Survatius Matara by an innings and 115 runs in their first match of the first XI cricket season. St.Survatius College batting first were restricted to 87, due to outstanding spin bowling by Sandun Mendis who took 5 for 32.
In reply Richmond College scored 307 for 4. Kamindu Mendis posted his maiden century of the season scoring 133 runs while young Thaversha Abishek scoring an unbeaten 100.
Richmond bowled out their opponents for 105 runs in the second innings. Dananjaya picked up 4/25 while Sandun Mendis 2/12. Sandun Mendis finished with a match bag of 7/44.
