Richmondites Achieve Extraordinary Results in 2021 G.C.E. A/Levels.

Being one of the biggest turning points of life, the Advanced Level Examination determines the future of a student and what his carrier is going to be. The school recently received the results of the 2021 G.C.E.A/L examination, and top ranks of the district. There, from the Biological Science Stream, A.A.Nithika Minwara Jayathilaka became the District 1st and Island 5th, Chamika Indusara Jayasekara became the District 2nd and Island 7th and Yasira Nithulaka Jayasekara became the District 3rd and Island 14th. Further, from the Physical Science Stream, the rank of District 1st and Island 9th was achieved by M.A. Mohomed Aazir, while Vihanga Dewmina Wijesundara Muthumala achieved the rank of District 2nd and Island 14th. And also, Nethmin Kawindu Gimhan Senadirathne was ranked as the District 3rd from the Engineering Technology Stream. The whole Richmond Community conveys their warmest congratulations to those brilliant Richmondites.

An Extraordinary Victory from the Richmond Quiz Club


“Brain Cypher 2022”, a quiz competition organized by the Mother Sri Lanka Club of Royal College, Colombo and the Quiz Club of Sirimavo Bandaranayake College, Colombo ended recently after giving a great opportunity for Richmondites to showcase their knowledge and intelligence. There, our A team, consisting of Captain Renuja Nanayakkara, Somiru Vinujana, Lochana de Silva and Manuka Rison, were able to attain victory in the overall championship. Further, our B team, consisting of Captain Sadanu Sasnula, Ganindu Swarnajeewa, Treshan Weerasooriya and Senidu Induwara, won the fourth place.

Richmondites Emerge Victorious from Aerobics


The Dr.C.W.W.Kannangara Auditorium recently became a venue where many victories were achieved by Richmond College from the Southern Province Aerobics and Gymnastic tournament. Said victories were, the 3rd place of the under 16 trio category, 3rd place of the under 16 individual category, 1st place of the under 18 individual and trio categories, 1st place of the under 20 category, and last but not least, our school became the runner’s up of the overall tournament.

Richmond Scrabble Players Achieve Multiple


The Richmond Scrabble Players were given a chance to shine on the 27th of August at the International Women’s Club premises, during the 32nd All Island Scrabble age group tournament, which was organized by the Sri Lanka Scrabble League. There, from the under 13 category, Tharin Kariyawasam won the championship and Ayush Haputhanthri won the 2nd runner’s up, while Thineth Kaveesh and Ruchintha Gamage was able to win the 4th and 5th places respectively. Further, Nimuthu Witharana achieved the 4th place of the under 18 category.

Southern Province Basketball Champions


The basketball players of Richmond college were able to show their skills at the under 17 Southern Province school Basketball Tournament which was held on the 6th of August at Dharmasoka college Ambalangoda. There our team won all the matches and got selected to the final round against the Dharmasoka players in which they managed to defeat the opponents with an amazing score of 60-31, ranking themselves as the Southern Province Champions. Further more, they have qualified to the all island championship.
