‘Haritha Udana’ Agricultural Exhibition – Day 01

Governor of Southern Province and renowned Richmondite Dr Hemakumara Nanayakkara was the chief guest on the opening day of the exhibition. Distinguished old boy  and Minister of Southern Province Mr U.G.D Ariyathilake and Minister of Southern Province Mr Wijepala Hettiarachchi also graced the occasion.

 “WICKET TO GOAL” Football match organized by Richmond Cricket Club featuring star Sri Lanka past cricketers Mahela,Champaka,Vaas,Upul Chandana  and many more on 24th June from 3.00 p:m onwards at St. Aloysius College grounds. 

Flood Relief Campaign

Richmond College and Richmond College Old Boys’ Association has jointly organised a campaign to help flood victims. Organisers expect to collect drinking water, dry rations, sanitary items, medicine and new clothes. You can handover the items to collecting centre at Dr C.W.W Kannagara Memorial Hall during tomorrow day time.
Further if there are any students, members of the staff or old boys who have suffered from the floods please provide such information to Mr Chamath Abeygunawardene, Chairman of RCOBA Welfare Committee on 07736625063.

Under 19 Singer Trophy 2 day Tournament – Richmond College enter final

Richmond College recorded their place in the final of Under 19 Singer Trophy 2 day Tournament  when they beat Thurstan College by 1 wicket in the semi final which was played at Surrey Ground Maggona today. Thurstan College batting first scored 289. Avindu Theekshana took  5 wickets for 75 while Sandun Mendis took 4 for 74.
The hero of the day was Adithya Siriwardene who scored a magnificient century. He scored 113 while Thaveesha Abishek scored 42. Richmond College will meet Ananda College Colombo in the final.

 

YALE NUS College Asia Pacific Model UN 2017

YALE  NUS Asia Pacific  Model UN 2017 was held from 12th to 16th at YALE  National University of Singapore , Singapore. 12  delegates from Richmond College participated in it representing Sri Lanka and succeeded in securing three international Awards.The twelve delegates who represented the event were

Rasula Yadithya, Lasal Sandeepa,, Teshan Pamesh, Gangulel Samaraweera,Dasun Theekshana, Chehan Jayasuriya,Kaveen Purna ,,Bineth Losera ,,Parinda Gunawardena ,R.Sandeesh ,,,Wishwa Dilshan  and Ravindu Theekshana  .

The awards won by them were as follows

Rasula Yadithya  and  Lasal Sandeepa –  Best foreign policy statement -Belgium UNHRC

Teshan Pamesh Uralagama  -Best Agency -Al Jazeera Press Corps

Further Sri Lanka MUN was awarded the Best Overseas MUN  Award

Richmond Delegates were accompanied by Mrs Priyanka Sannasuriya  and Mr Lalith Kumarasiri, the Masters in charge of MUN programme at Richmond

Galle District Hockey Championship to Richmond College

At the Under 15 Galle District Hockey tournament ended recently, Richmond team won the District Championship bringing much credit to their Alma Mater. The victorious team consisted of the following players.

E.A.Ravindu, E.A.Danuja Lakshan, A.A.Pasan Sandeepa, , D.P.Vihanga , Ganindu Jayasundara, W.A.S.Yuthmika ,L.N.G.Binara Ishan , W.A.Janith Charuka,W.B.Keshawa Dasun, U.G.Pasindu Tharaka, D.A.A.Gunawardena ,M.K.Hasal Indusara, M.M.N.Shammas, E.D.H.L.Dananjaya, B.Sankha Warapitiya, U.G.Samurdha Udakara, S.G.J.Arachchi, K.Awishka Madhumal, Laksha Fernando .

Mr Lanka Senanayaka  , the master in charge of Hockey at Richmond , acts as the driving force behind these victories.
