Dr Ariyasena U Gamage

I was grief stricken in no small measure to hear the news of his passing away this forenoon. You have done your part to your beloved parents hailing from the South SL, your alma mater, Richmond College and the humankind. Your life is not in vain. You have created history by your innovative establishment of the Saradiel Village at Mavanella, your second home.  This is a marvel appreciated by local tourist and the tourist worldwide. How great is your thinking to appreciate the life of Saradiel from Utuwankanda. You undoubtedly spent your time and money to gather and do research to evaluate the life of Saradiel, who rather come to be popular as the legendary Robin Hood. Then he created this wonder. Dr. Ariyasena was the Professor of Community Medicine, an apt profession to serve the populace of Sri Lanka and your untainted interest in the preservation of nature; you were a lover of fauna and flora.

I remember vividly Dr. Gamage, the chief guest at the Richmond College Prize Giving some years back. He exhibited his gratitude to his teachers by presenting some of his books, coming down the stage. He was an artist too. He has travelled extensively in study tours and his knowledge is vast. He has written a multitude of books on common topics of health and Medicine. They are very popular among the masses and his name will be remembered generation after generation. May he attain the supreme bliss of Nibbana!
