The long-awaited Inter-House Aquatic Sports Meet of Richmond College came to a glamorous conclusion after seven years of anticipation at the Richmond College Swimming Pool Complex, marking yet another proud and memorable chapter in the College’s sporting legacy.
The spectacular event brought together enthusiastic athletes, dedicated officials, proud parents, and spirited supporters for a day filled with determination, sportsmanship, and aquatic excellence. The vibrant atmosphere surrounding the meet reflected the unwavering passion and commitment of the Richmondites towards competitive sports and teamwork. Gracing the occasion as the Chief Guest was Mrs. N.W.E.J.M.D. Fernando, President of the Sri Lanka School Aquatic Sports Association, while the Guest of Honour was Mr. Akalanka Panagalage, County Manager/Director of Cipla Breathe Free Lanka (Pvt) Ltd.
Their presence added prestige and inspiration to the grand occasion. After a series of highly competitive and thrilling events, Small House emerged as the Overall Champions, proudly claiming the prestigious P.G. Karunasena Memorial Challenge Trophy through an outstanding display of talent, discipline, and perseverance.
Sneath House secured the position of Runners-Up after an equally commendable performance throughout the meet. Our heartfelt congratulations are extended to all Richmondites for making the revival of the Inter-House Aquatic Sports Meet after seven years a grand success, once again reflecting the proud spirit, unity, and sporting excellence of Richmond College.
